The New Hope Art Gallery opened its Holiday/Winter Show Nov. 13 at the Michael Traficante Enrichment Center.

“It was a fun night of beautiful art in every style and media from 90 local, national, senior, special needs and student artists who are part of this amazing nonprofit art gallery,” said Curator Ricky Gagnon.

“We had 150 guests who enjoyed our two-floor gallery with over 400 pieces of art hanging on our walls, 15 vendor tables of small original art items all at affordable prices,” said Gagnon.

According the Gagnon, the gallery is a great place to buy tax free original art as holiday gifts for family and friends all at affordable prices and support the nonprofit art space and local artists. This shows runs until early March 2019.

“The holiday/winter show features 14 new artists with us for the first-time including Pete Antonacci, Hailey Colby, Judy Emlen, Kyle Machado, Tom Marino, Stephen McPartland, Sarina Mitchel, Bill Nieranowski, Sophia Paliotti, Sally Schuman, David Simms, Thomas Terceira, Christopher Thomas and Bessie Williams,” said Gagnon.

“We enjoy having new artists in every show who join our talented group of returning artists. As a nonprofit art gallery with a mission “to bring art to all people and all people to art” we are proud to be a welcoming space for all artists from beginners to established to show their creations side by side for everyone to enjoy,” said Gagnon.

Two of our new artists Sarina Mitchel and Kyle Machado share their thoughts about working with New Hope Art Gallery.

“When I first saw this gallery, I was blown away by the amount of beautiful art in this show. Props to the gallery staff for an impressive transformation of the current space,” said Kyle Machado. “The vibe of the community is so positive I needed to tell others, so having a chance to show among other local talents feels amazing.”

“The first time I went to the New Hope Art Gallery,” said artist Sarina Mitchel, “I was stunned by the sheer amount of artwork that was hanging up. Hundreds of pieces lined the entrance, the stairwell, the whole first and second floors. It was like stepping into a museum, except that the museum showcases all local artists!”

“I am so impressed that the show was organized and hung by just three people, the incredible Three Musketeers of Art: Barbara, David and Ricky. I appreciate that the New Hope Art Gallery is a celebration of art in all its forms, art for everyone.  I am so happy to be able to show work for the winter/holiday show alongside other local artists. The pieces I have in the show are part of a series I worked on all summer, paintings and drawings themed around my “Ms. Proboscis,” an elephantine imaginary creature who takes on many forms,” said Mitchel.

“New Hope Art Gallery would not be the success it has become without our many talented artists and we thank them for being part of our gallery,” said Gagnon.
