Sunday, November 5 will be a standout day for the 2017 Hall of Fame class of the Providence Gridiron Club.

On that date, former Hall of Famers, family members and friends will gather at the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, to toast the incoming class of the Gridiron Hall of Fame.

Then, on Wednesday, November 8, there will be a formal dinner and induction ceremony at the Quonset “O” Club on 200 Lt. James Brown Road in North Kingstown. The new inductees, resplendent in tuxedos, will be feted to a five-course dinner featuring roast beef among the culinary delights.

Being honored for their outstanding careers and contributions to football are Jack Jordan, former St. Raphael two-sport All Stater, college player and college coach; Jon Abbate, outstanding high school athlete and sports official; Frank Iannetta, high school coach and two-sport high school and college official; Mike Salomone, high school athlete, high school and college coach; Mike Gibbons, two-sport All

Stater and current Hope High coach, and Tom Milewski, long-time Cranston

West assistant coach and very active member of several of the state's high school football associations.

Jim Norman, the long time "Voice of the Rams", a board member of several gridiron organizations, and board member of the Gridiron Club, will be receiving a Special Meritorious Service Award.

The cost for the Brunch is $25 and for the dinner, $40. It is hoped that as many former Hall of Famers, along with family, friends, teammates and colleagues will come to the events to honor the current class of inductees.
