The prestigious Rhode Island Hockey Hall of Fame, which was only founded three years ago, will unveil its Class of 2020 during a special two-fold event on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence.

Chairman Vincent Cimini announced the hockey hall, which is designed to honor those people who have been part of Rhode Island’s extraordinary and illustrious 122-year hockey history, will also unveil its new touchscreen “Wall of Fame” installation in special between-periods ceremonies which will take place during the Providence Bruins AHL game vs. the visiting Springfield Thunderbirds.

Face off is 7:05 p.m.

Cimini said the P-Bruins have designed the night as the “Rhode Island Hockey Hall of Fame Game” featuring a specially-priced ticket package in honor of the Hall’s ongoing efforts to recognize the significant impact the state has had on the sport of ice hockey.

Tickets are priced at $18 for hockey fans and Hall of Fame supporters will received a ticket to the lower level – a.k.a. premium seating – and a P-Bruins Sports bottle with $2 from each ticket package sold that will benefit the RI Hockey Hall of Fame.

Cimini also announced that ticket packages are available on-line at www.providencebuins.com/riockey or by calling (401) 680-4717.

The Class of 2020 will be announced during the Feb. 22 special ceremony and formerly inducted into the RI Hockey Hall of Fame on Friday, Aug. 28 at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln. Tickets will go on sale immediately after the Feb. 22 unveiling at www.RIHOF.com.

The RI Hockey Hall of Fame presently comprises 30 Rhode Island hockey greats and those inductees will now be celebrated in a state-of-the-art touchscreen “Wall of Fame” kiosk which will also be unveiled at the Feb. 22 P-Bruins-Thunderbirds game.

Cimini said the display will be located on the north end of the Dunkin Donuts Center concourse and will feature videos showcasing the accomplishments of all enshrinees while detailing the timeline and milestones in the state’s rich and great ice hockey history.

People who would like more information are welcome to call Cimini at (401) 824-4645.

The Rhode Island Hockey Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization formed in September of 2016 and is a collaboration of two well-established entities – Rhode Island Hockey, Inc. and the Rhode Island Reds Heritage Society – that have made longstanding contributions to hockey’s growth and have the best interest of players, coaches and officials and fans throughout the Ocean State.
