The group has worked tirelessly since its inception to contribute to the effort of rebuilding the country of Haiti and to facility the recovery of the people from natural disasters that have occurred there. Local leadership has sponsored such efforts as a backpack drive for school supplies and fundraisers to help with the rebuilding of homes in Haiti. Additionally, they have worked alongside local politicians whose mission is to support the local Haitian community.

On August 22, many local leaders and will gather together, including keynote speaker State Representative Marcia Ranglin-Vassell, guest speakers State Senator Sandra Cano, State Representative Robert Lancia, Councilwoman Nirva Lafortune, Roger Williams University Associate Professor, Dr. Hume Johnson, and President of the Rhode Island National Organization for Women, Dr. Hilary Levey Friedman. Additionally, three local supporters will be honored and be receiving citations at the event from the US Congressmen, Jim Langevin and David Cicilline, and from US Senator Jack Reed.

Entertainment for the evening includes Ollie and Kai, Fred E. Lafortune and Nixon Leger, and Marie Michaelle. Networking opportunities and a cash bar will also be available.

Both the Executive Director, Norly Germain and Assistant Director, Aniece Germain are Cranston residents, and Aniece Germain noted that the organization hopes that through the support of local community sponsors and businesses, the gala will help raise money to continue their work in Haiti, building housing, supporting children and strengthening community.
