Firefighters give safety lesson to Cranston kids

MAKING FRIENDS: Addie Reid, age 2 of Cranston, learned that firefighters are friends and are there to help you long with her newest friend, Probationary Firefighter Mark Euell.

Hosted by Cranston Public Library, young children were able to enjoy a special safety event with the Cranston Fire Department. They children were able to learn about fire safety and received a free coloring book and fire helmet. The crew from Cranston Station 4 demonstrated to the children how they dress for a fire and a chance see a fire truck up close. Run by Lt. John Ireland of the Cranston Fire Prevention Division, he was taking names of those families in need of a smoke detector for installation later.
