The RI Shriners held their first Valentine’s Day Elvis Tribute Concert on Feb.10 at the Imperial Room and was sold out at the door. The room was decorated in Valentine red and guests were treated to hot hors d’oeuvres, appetizers and desserts.
The atmosphere was festive and included more than 30 raffle prizes, a cash bar and balloon photo opportunities.
Headlining the event was Robert Black as Elvis who is New England’s premier award-winning Elvis Tribute Artist and performs nationwide.
The show was opened by local comedian Brian Vincent who did a short program and later returned as “Grandma Martha” adding tears of laughter throughout the audience.
The RI Shriners are a fraternal organization with the charitable goal of operating 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children, specializing in burn, orthopedic and spinal injury care. All care provided at Shriners’ Hospitals for Children is totally without charge to the patient and family. While the donations for this event are not tax-deductible, the proceeds help to defray the operating costs of the Shrine, where their Charities Offices are based.
