Johnston senior Kyle Nelson is putting together an impressive final outdoor track season in a Panthers’ uniform.
After winning the shot put, discus, hammer and javelin at a dual meet back on April 10, Nelson has continued his success throwing the discus at some recent bigger meets.
He earned gold, posting the top distance at the Classical Classic back on April 29, and he finished second at both the Northern Division Championships on May 8 and the Moretti Invitational held this past weekend.
The Panthers concluded the dual meet season with a 6-4 record, and they’ll return to action this weekend at Portsmouth for the Class B Championships.
Johnston is also set to compete in the Hendricken Invitational on May 27 and the RIIL State Championship on June 3.
