Adaptive Telephone Equipment Loan (ATEL) presentation

Thursday, April 18 at 10 a.m.At this demonstration, attendees will learn the benefits of specialized telephone equipment and how it works. This equipment is on loan to individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, have a speech impairment or any disease that hinders them from using a standard telephone.

Dizziness & Vertigo

Do you sometimes feel lightheaded, dizzy, groggy or unsteady walking? You are not alone. Dizziness is the top complaint to primary care doctors by patients over 55. This presentation will focus on the types of dizziness, its causes and treatments, and how physical therapy may help.

St. Jude’s Ranch for Children turns unwanted greeting cards into new cards. Recycled cards are sold to support the ranch’s mission to transform the lives of abused and at-risk children, young adults and families. Feel free to drop off any of your unwanted cards to the RSVP Office during this month of April. RSVP Green Seniors will make sure recycled cards get to St. Jude’s Ranch for Children.

Making Cranston Dementia Friendly: Understanding the Dementia Journey

Wednesday, May 8 and Wednesday, May 15 at 7 p.m.This two-part series begins Wednesday, May 8, at 7 p.m. with “The Basics: Age-Related Memory Loss, Alzheimer’s Disease & Other Dementias.” Dr. Lori Daiello of the Alzheimer’s Disease & Memory Disorders Center at Rhode Island Hospital will speak, while a woman wrestling with Alzheimer’s will discuss her personal journey. The series continues Wednesday, May 15, at 7 p.m. with “A Caregiver’s Journey: The Emotional & Physical Impact of Caregiving” and “Taking Care of You: Preventing Caregiver Burnout.” Presenters will include caregivers from the community and Annie Murphy of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Rhode Island chapter.
