Butler Alzheimer’s Prevention Registry

We need to effectively find ways to delay or even prevent Alzheimer’s disease from developing. One way is by gathering volunteers to help with these goals. What is an Alzheimer’s Disease Prevention Registry? How is each registry different? Can anyone volunteer? Join us for this informative presentation.

Step Up Challenge

Sponsor: Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode IslandThe Cranston Enrichment Center will be challenging other senior centers in the area. We will be competing against Coventry Senior Center, Pilgrim Senior Center and West Warwick Senior Center. The Step Up Challenge runs from Sept. 3-30. The center with the highest average steps over four weeks will receive $2,500 from BCBSRI. The top three winners at each center will also receive prizes.

To join the challenge, you must be a participant at the center and 55 years of age or older. Each person will receive a fitness tracker or a pedometer to record daily steps. Participants will report daily numbers on a weekly basis.

Register on July 17 and Aug. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a representative from BCBSRI.
