NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

A Public Hearing on the following proposed Ordinance 6-17-02 as amended in Ordinance Committee will be held before the City Council on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. City Council Chambers, 869 Park Avenue, Cranston, R.I. pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Charter.

PROPOSED ORDINANCE 6-17-02

IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 20

OF TITLE 11 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED ‘PARKS AND

RECREATIONAL FACILITIES”

(Ocean Avenue – Scenic Lookout No Fishing)

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 12.20 of the Code of the City of Cranston, 2005, is hereby amended by adding thereto the following new section:

12.20.181 – Ocean Avenue Scenic View.

1. The public access point at the point where Ocean Ave. meets the shoreline shall be opened to the public from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. No person shall enter, park or stand at said scenic public access point or be within the limits of said public access point except during the regular hours.

2. There shall be no fishing at the public access point where Ocean Ave. meets the shoreline at any time,* in accordance with Costal Resources Management Council’s designation as a scenic overlook.

3. The penalty for a violation of this section shall be a fine not exceeding fifty dollars ($50.00).

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.
