NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

A Public Hearing on the following proposed Ordinances will be held before the Ordinance Committee on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. City Council Chambers, 869 Park Avenue, Cranston, R.I. pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Charter.

Complete copies of proposed Ordinances are available for public review at the City Clerk’s Office, and the Cranston Central Library and the City’s website cranstonri.com under calendar by clicking on the meeting date.

PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 4-19-01 IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 10.32 OF TITLE 10 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED “MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC” (Laurel Hill Avenue & Elwyn Street 4 way stop)

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

SECTION 1. Title 10.32.020 of the Code of the City of Cranston, 2005 entitled ”Stop Intersections Enumerated” is hereby amended by deleting the following:

(Elwyn Street, at its intersection with Laurel Hill Avenue)

SECTION 2. Title 10.32.030 of the Code of the City of Cranston, 2005 entitled ”Multi-Way Stop Intersections Enumerated” is hereby amended by adding the following:

Laurel Hill Avenue and Elwyn Street - 4 way stop.

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.

PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 4-19-02 IN AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 2.08, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED “OFFICERS, DEPARTMENTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS” (Boards and Commissions)

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

SECTION 1: Article III “City Departments” of Chapter 2.08 entitled “Officers, Departments and Administrative Provisions” is hereby amended as follows:

2.08.120 - Duties of city clerk.

The City Clerk shall perform those duties of office as specified in Section 4.01 and Section 15.11 of the charter. In addition to the requirements of Section 15.11, the register of boards and commissions shall be posted and regularly updated on the city’s website. In addition, on or before November 1 of each year, the city clerk shall notify the residents of the city of all vacancies and terms expiring for board and commission members in the subsequent calendar year with a process for submitting an application to serve on each board and commission.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.
