NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

A Public Hearing on the following proposed Ordinances will be held before the Ordinance Committee on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. City Council Chambers, 869 Park Avenue, Cranston, R.I. pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Charter.

Complete copies of proposed Ordinances are available for public review at the City Clerk’s Office, and the Cranston Central Library and the City’s website cranstonri.com under calendar by clicking on the meeting date.

“Individuals requesting interpreter services for the dear or hard of hearing must notify the City Clerk’s Office at 461-1000 ext. 3197 seventy-two (72) hours in advance of the hearing date.”

PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO.

8-19-03 IN AMENDMENT OF Title 2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED

“ADMINISTRATION AND

PERSONNEL”

(Authorized Use of Municipal Vehicles)

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

Section 1. Title 2.80.060, entitled “Authorized use of municipal vehicles” is hereby amended as follows: 2.80.060 Authorized use of municipal vehicles.

A. All motor vehicles owned by the city shall be operated for public use only and when not in use, except for those motor vehicles assigned to the mayor, to the chief and assistant chief of the fire department and to the department of police for patrol and emergency use, shall be parked in areas owned and maintained by the city, as designated by the director of public works. The vehicles assigned to the following positions shall be exempt from this municipal vehicle storage requirement.

1. Public works director;

2. Highway supervisor;

3. Inspector of buildings;

4. Parks and recreation department director;

5. EMS director;

6. Fire Marshall;

7. Members of the fire prevention bureau;

8. Hazardous materials officer;

9. Superintendent of fire alarm and training/safety officers.

10. Public Buildings Superintendent

It should be clear that this exemption does not pertain to the aforementioned employees’ access to these vehicles for personal use.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.

8-19-04 IN AMENDMENT OF TITLE 10, CHAPTER 32.570 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CRANSTON, 2005, ENTITLED “MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC”

(Kenwood Two Hour Parking)

It is ordained by the City Council of the City of Cranston as follows:

Section 1. Chapter 10.32,570 entitled “Two Hour Parking Generally” is hereby amended by adding the following:

Kenwood Street, both sides, from NGrid pole #11 northerly for a distance of 1100 feet.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its final adoption.
