Oaklawn Elementary kids aren't 'board' at all

On Friday, Nov. 3 Premier Martial Arts hosted a ‘Break the Board’ night for Oaklawn Elementary School.

With over 40 students signed up, they spent the evening playing tug of war and participated in a mini class taught by Premier.

The highlight of the evening was all the children had the opportunity to break one to six wooden boards each using their hands and feet.

“PTG is sending an extra thank you to [gym teacher] Mr. P for helping plan the event and our Principal, Mr. Zanfini for staying the whole time to watch the kids have a blast,” said PTG President, Ruthanne Farina.

Rachel Clark, mother to Sofia, a first grader, was impressed with the event overall.

“What a treat it was for parents to see our children cheering for and encouraging one another. It was a great event,” she said.
