Oaklawn Grange gets in the holiday spirit

LOVEBIRDS: Frank and Kathleen Manzi, members of the Oaklawn Grange, are both thankful that the family is in good health.

ARM’S LENGTH: Selling an arm’s length of raffle tickets to Grange Master Gerald Bloomfield is Maria Manzi, the Grange secretary. Bloomfield was grateful for his health and Manzi was grateful for her family and friends this Thanksgiving week.

TAKING A CHANCE: John Cece of Cranston places his raffle tickets in the raffle cups during the Oaklawn Grange’s Pasta Dinner, which raised funds for their upcoming Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 14. Cece stated he was most thankful that “I have been given the opportunity to be helpful in some people’s lives.”

The Oaklawn Grange held their third annual Pasta Dinner this past weekend to raise funds for their Christmas Tree Lighting and Ceremony scheduled for Dec. 14 at the Gazebo and the Oaklawn Grange. On Dec. 14, members of the Oaklawn Grange will host an evening of fun and festivities for the community, free of charge. The evening will include a visit from Mayor Allan Fung, a visit from Santa and horse-drawn carriage hayrides throughout the neighborhood. BASICS will provide musical entertainment and there will also be craft stations and a collection of canned goods to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. During the Pasta Dinner, people were asked what they are grateful for, as the Thanksgiving season is upon us.
