Oaklawn Library had kids moving, grooving

Posted

For the past seven weeks, starting on Sept. 14, children aged to four-years old participated in a Zumbini class.

Zumbini is Zumba for children. The dozen attendees learned about movement, balance, rhythm and coordination.

Shana Groeneveld, the instructor had not only the children, but moms, grandmothers and other caregivers on their feet.

They played with bean bags, scarves and musical instruments while honing their skills on marching, skipping and their own interpretive free dances.

Shanna Factor, has been bringing her daughter Ellie, 3 years old every week.

"This was my first program at Oaklawn,” she said. “Ellie really likes all the dancing and music. It was nice to have something planned for the same day every week and to see so many of the same faces. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking for something to do with a younger child.”
