October 13 Opening Receptions

Posted by ProvidenceArtClub

Join the Providence Art Club on Sunday, October 13 from 2-4pm for the opening receptions of three exciting new exhibitions.

On view in the Maxwell Mays Gallery: Al Albrektson: Retrospective

Al's show will feature works in watercolor from throughout his career. Al recently turned 100 and has been a dedicated member of the Club since 1954. We are excited to honor him with this show!

On view in the Mary Castelnovo Gallery: James Myette: Mostly Maine

Jim Myette will show a series of recent work inspired by his travels to coastal Maine. Jim and Al are longtime friends so it is appropriate that their shows will be alongside one another.

On view in the Dodge House Gallery: The Providence Art Club College Scholarship Exhibition

In Dodge House Gallery, we will show works in a range of media by area college students. This exhibition was generously supported by the Glucksman family and will be juried by Gallery Manager Michael Rose.

These exhibitions will continue through November 1. Our galleries are always free and open to the public and all are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served and artists will be on hand to discuss their work.

The Providence Art Club is located at 11 Thomas Street on College Hill. The Club is just a five minute walk from Kennedy Plaza as well as the Providence Amtrak Station. Street parking is available nearby on North Main Street and Benefit Street.

For more information or to plan your visit, please contact Gallery Manager Michael Rose at 401-331-1114 ext. 5, or via email at michael@providenceartclub.org.
