On Exhibit at TinTown

Posted

The newest exhibit at TinTown Studio, owned by Paul Carpentier and Dennis DelSignore, opened Friday evening, Nov. 18 at the studio at 40 Haven Ave.

Intrigued by the 12”x12” format, over 65 artists responded to Carpentier and DelSignore’s invitation to submit work within precise parameters.

On a somewhat somber yet inspirational note, the 12x12 Exhibit at TinTown is dedicated to the memory of one of the participating artists, who passed away suddenly two weeks ago.

“Paola Cellini’s physical domain on a map was limited,” said Carpentier. “Yet this did not halt her from wanting to explore new innovations and ideas, facing it all with courage and determination. Reminiscent of the work of 20th century artist Paul Klee, her repetitive placement of organic and geometric shape within space are imbued with intense colors and layered with purpose. Her belief in others was similar.”

“We dedicate the 12x12 at TinTown Studio in memory of this brilliant young artist. Exhibiting artists have embraced a finite world for themselves. Like Paola, despite simple parameters, their courage and expression abound,” said DelSignore.

Ninety-seven percent of the art in this current show is for sale. Carpentier and DelSignore are strong advocates for the Art Community of Rhode Island.

“Buying local…local art most especially; should be a primary goal of shoppers venturing out this Season. Rhode Island is known for its heavy concentration of creative entities,” said Carpentier.

The 12x12 Exhibit closes on Dec. 10, the same day Holiday Artisan Faire will be up at TinTown Studio for one day only from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

TinTown Studio is located at 40 Haven Avenue, a familiar address to the public venturing through the Knightsville section of Cranston.
