A BERRY GOOD TIME: The blueberries at Harmony Farms in Glocester were bursting with size and color Friday as Connie Manzi of Cranston was out harvesting with her son and friend.

SUMMER PASTTIME: Perfect weather Friday brought 11-year-old John Michael Manzi and his mom’s friend (and his former teacher) Fran Caliri to Harmony Farms for blueberry picking Friday. The duo is from Cranston. According to farm owners Bernie and Mary Ellen Smith, it’s a great summer for blueberries, raspberries and peaches. On Friday, the farmers were hoping for rain. Their hopes were answered Saturday late afternoon, when more than an inch of heavy rain fell across much of the area.
