To the Editor:

On November 16 Robert Flanders declared his candidacy for the U.S. Senate challenging Senator Sheldon Whitehouse. What stunned me was Flanders' admission of voting for Donald Trump, an admitted sexual predator with over a dozen women charging him with sexual assault. Trump would throttle the news media if he could. He laments he can't follow through with his radical agenda because the judicial system, the F.B.I., the C.I.A. and members of congress are standing in his way – classic hallmarks of a dictator!

Trump vowed to drain the swamp but created a quagmire. He, his family and members of his cabinet are racking up enormous vacation and travel bills at taxpayer expense. His tax reform bill will mostly benefit the super rich and some tax experts claim Trump and his family stand to gain more than one billion dollars in the long run.

Trump's never-ending tweets, his lies (The Washington Post recorded 1,628 lies over 298 days and counting), his derisive nicknaming of those he disagrees with all call into question his mental stability. Should this man have his finger on the nuclear button?

Donald Trump is a man without morals or scruples. This became evident during his campaign. Yet his followers, including Flanders, put party before country in voting for him!
