Any voter wishing to disaffiliate from their current party prior to the primary election may do so online at vote.ri.gov, in person at the Canvassing Department at Cranston City Hall on 869 Park Ave. during normal business hours, or by submitting an updated voter registration form on or before June 14.
The Canvassing Department is also accepting applications for poll workers willing to work the Sept. 12 primary and Nov. 6 general elections. Poll workers are required to attend training classes and receive between $175 to $200 for each election worked. Contact the Canvassing Department at 780-3127 for more information about being a poll worker or with any questions regarding 2018 candidate and registration deadlines. The Secretary of State’s official 2018 elections calendar is likewise available at vote.ri.gov.
