Pawtuxet village becomes wedding venue for a day

Posted

The sidewalks, stores and restaurants of Pawtuxet Village were busy on May 5, as the 5th Annual Wedding Pawtuxet Wedding Stroll, produced by Salon KG, took place. Salon KG was also celebrating their fifth year in business.

“We had 14 vendors and 9 businesses in the Village that participated,” said Kristin Greene, owner of Salon KG and founder and organizer of the Wedding Stroll.

Approximately 200 attendees from brides, grooms, parents, and wedding parties picked up their map, made by The Artists’ Exchange in Cranston, and then strolled through the village, stopping to view goods and services that are ready for wedding planning. At each stop, their map was stamped so they could be included in the $5,000 wedding raffle full of free goods and services for an upcoming wedding. The winner will be drawn on Wednesday, past Herald press time.

“We booked 5 weddings on the spot yesterday during the stroll, quite a few appointments and inquiries are coming in today,” said Greene the following day.

There was also a wedding bride and groom, walking along the village and stopping in at participating shops. Acting bride Jenn Caito and acting groom Richard Russo were outfitted by Spark Bridal Outlet, and the tuxedo was provided by Aldo’s House of Formals.

The crowds of people kept coming to the Pawtuxet Wedding Stroll throughout the day and many brides have an eye on that raffle prize.
