Police: Man claimed to have gun
during bank robbery

A man claiming to have a gun robbed a local bank branch of an undisclosed amount of cash on April 28 before fleeing the scene, according to Cranston Police.
Officers responded to the TD Bank location at 178 Phenix Ave. after receiving a report of the incident shortly before 3 p.m., according to a statement from Maj. Todd Patalano. The suspect is said to have been alone and to have handed a teller a note claiming he was armed and asking for money.
He is described as standing approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall and wearing khaki pants, a lime-green construction jacket, a black hat, construction glasses and black shoes.
No one was injured in the incident, police said.
“At this time we are investigating further and have provided several photos of the suspect,” Patalano’s statement reads.

Women sought in Sephora theft

Police are seeking to identify two women suspected of stealing a large amount of fragrances and makeup from the Sephora location in Garden City Center on March 17.
According to a social media posting from Cranston Police, the women are believed to be between 25-35 years of age and of average height and weight. Neither was seen again after leaving the store, police said.

Police: Man stole air conditioner units

The community’s help is being sought as police work to identify a man suspected of stealing two air conditioner units from the Ocean State Job Lot location on Elmwood Avenue over the course of two visits.
According to a statement from Cranston Police, the man – described as being in his 20s or 30s, with short, dark hair, a medium build and average height – is believed to have stolen the units during visits at 1 p.m. and approximately 8:20 p.m. on April 20.
