ASSAULT

Officers Merry and Reis arrested Michael Mattia, 48, of 224 Armington St., basement apartment, on Feb. 19 at 10:38 p.m. for domestic simple assault/battery, third offense, and domestic/disorderly conduct. The arrest is the result of a disturbance at the residence. Mattia was held overnight as a probation violator.

On Feb. 19 at 3:47 p.m., Officer Troiano arrested Jaydee Watson, 34, of 144 Petteys Ave. in Providence, for domestic assault on person over 60, domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct. Watson’s arrest stemmed from a call for service at 222 Montgomery Ave., and he was arraigned by a justice of the peace and released.

Samantha Benevides, 27, of 90 Girard Ave. in Bristol, was arrested on Feb. 19 at 6:02 p.m. by Officers Merry and Reis for domestic simple assault, domestic disorderly conduct and resisting arrest following a call for service at 705 Dyer Ave. She was held and awaited arraignment by a justice of the peace.

CHILD NEGLECT

Officer Leonard arrested Alexus Tabela, 22, of 935 Pontiac Ave., Apartment No. 78 in Cranston, for three counts of cruelty or neglect of a child following an attempted pick-up at 778 Cranston St. in Providence. She was held as a probation violator.

DUTY TO STOP

Yamilex Salcedo, 21, of 70 Whitehall St., Apartment No. 1 in Providence, was arrested on Feb. 19 at 4:43 p.m. by Officer Brown for duty to stop, accident resulting and damage to attended vehicle. Her arrest is the result of the suspect turning herself into the Cranston Police Department. Salcedo was arraigned by a justice of the peace and released.

NO CONTACT VIOLATION

On Feb. 19 at 4:59 p.m., Officer Leonard arrested Jessica Dugan, 43, of 42 Inman Ave. in Warwick, for a violation of a no-contact order, third offense. The arrest is the result of an attempted pick-up at the residence. She was arraigned by a justice of the peace and transported to the ACI as a violator.

Officer Scotti arrested Nicholas Maguire, 29, of 42 Redwing St., First Floor in Providence, on Feb. 14 at 7:01 p.m. for two counts of violation of a no-contact order following a call for service at 20 Camelia Drive. Maguire was held for arraignment as a probation violator.

NO LICENSE

After a motor vehicle stop at 18 Victory St. on Feb. 19 at 11:59 p.m., Officer LeClair arrested Eduard Lopez, 32, of 4 Joy St. in Johnston, for driving without a license, third offense. LeClair was released on-scene with a district court summons to appear.

POSSESSION

Following a self-initiated suspicious activity approach on Tampa Street on Feb. 14 at 6:24 p.m., Officer Corvese arrested Richard Hartman, 20, of 5 Lark Ave. in Cranston, for manufacturing/possession/delivery of a Schedule I/II drug. He was arraigned by a justice of the peace and sent to the ACI.

On Feb. 11 at about 11:30 p.m., Officers Dempsey and Murray arrested David Silva, 22, of 27 Church St. No. 1 in Cranston for possession of a Schedule I-V drug as the result of a call for service at 79 Chestnut Hill Ave. He was arraigned and later released.

SHOPLIFTING

Officers Merry and Reis arrested Yolanda Mendez, 28, of 101 Wadsworth St., Apt No. 1 in Providence, for shoplifting and conspiracy on Feb. 14 at 4:19 p.m. Her arrest is the result of a call for service at the Garfield Avenue Stop and Shop. She was later arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released.

Rosalia Taveras, 20, of 10 Vermilyea Ave. in Manhattan, was also arrested on Feb. 14 at 4:19 p.m. by Officers Merry and Reis at the Stop and Shop for shoplifting and conspiracy. She was released after being arraigned by a justice of the peace.

VANDALISM

On Feb. 14 at 6:54 p.m., Officer Leonard arrested John Ingram, 42, of 163 South Clarendon St., Third Floor in Cranston, for vandalism and conspiracy as a result of an attempted pick-up at the aforementioned address.

VEHICLE TAMPERING

On Feb. 20 at 4:18 a.m., Officers McIntyre and Quaranto arrested Nathan Nazario, 22, of 11 Hepburn St. in West Warwick for injuring or tampering with vehicles, conspiracy and weapons other than firearms prohibited. His arrest is the result of a call for a larceny from a motor vehicle in progress in the area of 231 Locust Glen Drive. Nazario was arraigned pending transport to Third District Court.

Officers McIntyre and Quaranto also arrested Valerie Gonzalez-Shannon, 18, of 245 Hill Farm Road in Coventry on Feb. 20 at 4:18 a.m. for injuring or tampering with vehicles, conspiracy and weapons other than firearms prohibited. She, too, was arraigned pending transport to Third District Court.

WARRANT

Alicia Murphy, 27, of 2074 Smith St., No. 508 in North Providence, was arrested on Feb. 19 around midnight for a Superior Court bench warrant and obstructing an officer in execution of duty following a motor vehicle stop at 18 Victory St. She was held overnight as a probation violator.

On Feb. 17 at 1:05 p.m., Officer Brown arrested Gregory Drayton, 56, of 30 Howard Ave. in Cranston for a Cranston Police Department arrest warrant for a sexual offender address change. Officer Brown responded to Superior Court and took custody of Drayton.
