Rhode Island Day at Glen Hills

Posted

The celebration of Rhode Island Day is an annual tradition for the fourth grade classes at Glen Hills Elementary School. Each year, at the end of June, the students participate in an entire day's celebration that culminates their unit of study on their home state. For several weeks prior, the students are immersed in the study of Rhode Island; it's landmarks, unique locations, historical sites and especially it's delectable edibles. A paper quilt is assembled by the classes each year with the students' quilt squares showing off all they've learned about their piece of Rhode Island.
