Nicholas J. Almonte, a Cranston native, was awarded a $500 scholarship from the Cristoforo Colombo Loggia #2413, a Filial lodge of the Grand Lodge of Rhode Island, Order of The Sons and Daughters of Italy in America. Almonte is a rising junior at Springfield College in Massachusetts, majoring in Exercise Science. He currently holds a GPA of 3.9, is on the varsity wrestling team, and is active in various school activities.
