Defenders of Animals held its annual Community Yard Sale on Sept. 28 at Edgewood Congregational Church. The event raised $248, all of which will go to support the organization’s emergency medical program for dogs and cats. Defenders of Animals will host a Pasta Fest at the church on Friday, Oct. 18, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tickets will cost $10 and the event will include raffles. The organization is also planning a Bowling for Animals event, to be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, at Town Hall Lanes in Johnston. For more information, call 461-1922.
