The Artists’ Exchange in Cranston held its 15th annual Gingerbread House Decorating Contest on Saturday, drawing hundreds of participants.

“The Gingerbread Decorating Contest is our favorite day of the year. It has become a tradition for many families in the neighborhood as well as the staff here at Artists’ Exchange,” said Shannon Casey, the event’s coordinator and director of The Artists’ Exchange. “It is exciting to see families return year after year and watch how the children and the event have grown. This is my 12th year working to organize the event and every year is more fun than the last.”

Before returning home with their gingerbread structures, participants could submit their creations for judging in their respective age category. Also included in the festivities were holiday grab bags, raffles, face painting, and artwork from students and artist residents on display and for sale.
