On July 12, the Cranston Public Library celebrated 98-year-old Don Mellor, who marked his last day on the job as the library’s delivery driver after 36 years. Mellor began working at the library in May 1983 and “has been a fixture at the library and in our community,” according to a statement from the library. “He has touched many lives throughout Cranston and has always been an important, funny, and caring face of the library while out on his rounds in the library van.” Mellor received a proclamation from Mayor Allan Fung.
