Honored guest

Don Mellor, a 98-year-old World War II veteran, came to Park View Middle School on Wednesday, Nov. 13, to talk to the eighth-grade social studies students. He shared his experiences being in the U.S. Navy on a destroyer ship during World War II. His message to the students was the importance of respect and teamwork. His enthusiasm, humor and work ethic were inspiring to all. Even in his retirement years, he worked at the Cranston Public Library for 36 years. He continues his volunteer work through speaking to students. (Submitted photos)
