On Feb. 27, Mayor Allan Fung welcomed Blaze Pizza at 2 Chapel View Blvd. to the city’s business community with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. It is the first Rhode Island location for Blaze Pizza, which was founded in California. Owners Jamal Bourote, Shawn Ryan, Matt Giroux and Gene Prentice (not pictured) own seven Blaze Pizza locations in New England. Also in attendance for the ceremony were general manager Dave Medeiros, Citywide Councilman Ken Hopkins and employees of the restaurant. (Herald photos by Steve Popiel)
