CONGRATULATIONS PETE: In this 2017 file photo, Pete Fontaine was presented with a special commendation by Town Councilman Robert Civetti. He was recognized for doing a “great job for the Town of Johnston and the athletes of the town at all levels,” he was honored for his coverage of events of all kinds. HEAD CHEF: Richard Lisi, a volunteer with Troop 6 Cranston, served as the head chef and led volunteers in the kitchen. In total, they cooked more than 60 pounds of pasta, 50 gallons of sauce and kneaded more than 100 pounds of dough for homemade Italian bread.

PACKED HOUSE: It was a full house during Troop 6 Cranston’s 28th annual Macaroni Dinner on Sunday. Scouts not only planned the event, but they also served food for approximately 300 visitors.

On Sunday, Troop 6 Cranston held its 28th annual Macaroni Dinner at the Church of the Ascension on Oaklawn Avenue. Approximately 300 dinners were served a meal by more than 30 volunteers. The Scouts provided all the service, and the pride was visible on parents’ faces as they were served by their own children. Troop 6 Cranston is currently celebrating its 95th year in existence.
