Social Enterprise Greenhouse (SEG) has opened applications for its Summer 2021 Incubator program. The SEG Incubator is a 10-week business education program designed to help entrepreneurs launch a new business or fine-tune a business that is already in operation.

Hands-on program sessions cover social impact, business model planning, finances, marketing, and other practical topics for startup organizations. Participants will continue to have access to SEG’s network of expert advisors and other services after the completion of the 10-week program sessions. More than 150 startups in a wide range of industries have graduated from SEG’s Incubator program since it began in 2017.

“SEG is a community that will welcome you in and support your growth,” said Jennifer Sahady, personal finance educator and 2020 SEG Incubator graduate. “Their staff are as passionate about your business idea as you are. They have the experts, resources, and programs to help make your vision a reality. I highly recommend SEG to any entrepreneur!”

The Summer 2021 Incubator begins with an orientation on May 27 and then meets twice weekly via Zoom from June 1 to Aug. 19 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m. Participants benefit from the experience of learning together with a cohort of fellow early-stage business owners. SEG experts facilitate small-group work sessions that allow entrepreneurs to apply key concepts directly to their own businesses.

SEG’s Incubator program is designed for anyone who wants to launch a program, business or nonprofit that will help themselves, their family and their community. Motivated and coachable entrepreneurs and small business owners from Rhode Island and beyond are encouraged to apply. Applications are due by April 30. More information and the application are available at bit.ly/SEGIncubator.

The SEG Incubator is sponsored by the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training’s Back to Work RI program, Rhode Island Foundation, Central Providence Health Equity Zone, Citizens Bank, Island Foundation, van Beuren Charitable Foundation, and EJMP Fund for Philanthropy.
