St. Luke’s Little Theater will hold auditions for its April 13-14 One-Act Play Festival at the church on Peirce St. in East Greenwich on Monday and Wednesday nights, Feb. 11 and 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

A man and woman in their 40s are needed for Alfred Sutro’s poignant turn-of-the-20th-century comedy “The Open Door”; it explores a love that might have been, and still is.

Other cast positions and plays include: two women (one older) gently probe the liberal/conservative, rich/poor divide in Monica S. Staaf’s “How They Are.”

“For Free,” Martha Douglas-Osmundson’s sometimes hilarious exploration of deep family misunderstandings, calls for one woman in her 50’s, another in her 70’s, and a man in his 30’s-40’s.

And Jayne Hannah’s “Dating in New England in the Winter” features an estranged husband and wife in their 50’s who discover spontaneity.

This joyful no-budget way to bring in donations for Loaves and Fishes, St. Luke’s food and clothing outreach to Woonsocket, is proud to produce both classics and new plays by the women of Providence’s “Blue Cow Group.”
