The PS3 Ronald A. Gill Jr. Memorial Scholarship Foundation (rongilljr.org) is preparing for their next big fundraiser, the second-annual bowlathon to take place this Saturday, Sept. 22 at Lang’s Bowlarama in Cranston.
The foundation has raised more than $300,000 for students in the New England area since its inception in 2007 and continues to give out college scholarships to students each spring. The Gill Foundation relies on several regular fundraising events throughout the year, including an annual pasta dinner and visit with Santa in December, a motorcycle run in April and a golf tournament in July. The bowlathon is the newest event on the foundation’s calendar, which will help to bring in scholarship monies for local students.
The bowling event will take place from 12-3 p.m. at Lang’s and will include silent auctions and raffles, the proceeds from which will go to the scholarship fund. The cost will be $20 per person and will include two hours of bowling and shoe rental. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Lang’s Bowlarama is located at 225 Niantic Avenue, Cranston. For more information contact Ron Gill Sr. by phone at 942-4799 or 578- 3138 or by email at info
