Summer food program feeds kids for free

Posted

As summer arrives, it’s time to think about keeping your children healthy while school is out with a nutritious meal.

Aramark, in conjunction with Cranston Public Schools and the Cranston Parks and Recreation Department, will be providing free meals to children in the Cranston community this summer under a federally funded USDA feeding program.

Help us kick off the summer lunch program by attending the “Summer Lunch Kick-Off BBQ” at Gladstone School Playground 50 Gladstone St., on June 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be music, outdoor activities and arts and crafts. The lunch will feature hamburgers, cheeseburgers or hot dogs, corn on the cob, watermelon, milk and baked lays.

For more information on this event or the summer lunch program, contact the Food Service Office at 270-8685 or email wright-patricia2@aramark.com.

This summer, meals will be served at the following locations Monday through Friday unless otherwise noted:

Arlington School: Tuesday June 25, through Friday Aug. 23, 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

Bain Playground Tate Field: Tuesday, June 25, through Friday, Aug. 23, 12-1 p.m.

These sites are open to the community at large and may only limit the site’s total enrollment for reasons of security, safety or control. Lunches will be provided on a first come, first served basis for the above specified dates and time frames. Please note that all meals must be consumed on site for food safety reasons.

Questions or concerns regarding the program can be directed to the Food Service Office at 270-8069 or wright-patricia2@aramark.com
