Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up three cents this week, according to AAA Northeast.

AAA Northeast’s November 12 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.51 per gallon. Rhode Island’s price is 10 cents below the national average of $2.61. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 21 cents higher at $2.72 per gallon.

“While most states are seeing more expensive gas prices on the week, the good news is the majority of increases were no more than a few pennies,” said Lloyd Albert, Senior Vice President of AAA Public and Government Affairs. “Crude prices increased last week as a result of increased optimism that China and the U.S. – the world’s two largest crude consumers – are continuing to resolve ongoing trade tensions.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 34 cents, from a low of $2.35 to a high of $2.69. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area. Please remember to slow down and move over for any emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
