Cranston Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an armed robbery at a gas station early Monday.
According to police, a male wearing a black jacket and blue jeans with a camouflage bandana covering his face entered the Mobil station at 1282 Elmwood Ave. at approximately 3 a.m. Monday. The suspect is said to have displayed a black revolver and demanded money from the register. He was given approximately $100 before fleeing the scene on foot heading eastbound on Park Avenue.
Police have circulated images of the suspect taken from surveillance video on social media.
“While we realize that the photos are not revealing, we are hoping someone recognizes the clothing or any other clues to the suspect's identity,” a message on the department’s Facebook page reads.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or location is asked to contact Detective Robert Santagata at 477-5169. Tips can also be submitted through the Cranston Police smartphone app or the department’s website, cranstonpoliceri.com.
