“Taste of Rhode Island was a premiere culinary tasting event – a delicious celebration of great food, fabulous entertainment and, local wine, beer and spirits,” said Cruz. “Amazing eateries, caterers, bakeries, wineries, breweries and artisans showcased delicious offerings.” Entertainment was provided by the Steven Palumbo Jazz Ensemble.
A portion of ticket sales, as well as raffle and silent auction items, benefited the MAE Organization for the Homeless.
“My heart is so filled with gratitude this morning for everyone who made the Taste of Rhode Island possible,” said Martina Javid, founder and director of the MAE Organization for the Homeless.
Raffles raised approximately $650 toward MAE and a portion of ticket sales also benefited the organization. Proceeds from the event that went to MAE will go towards assisting families get into housing. They are presently helping five families, in addition to many programs and food assistance help that MAE provides throughout the year.
