The Cranston Historical Society held its annual Victorian Tea education and fundraising event Sunday at Sprague Mansion. Laura Johnson from Historic New England presented a program titled “Head to Toe,” showcasing hats and shoes worn in New England from 1750 to the present and discussing the ways dress has reflected the region’s economy, workforce, environment and self-image. Musical entertainment was provided by Andrew Kaplan of West Warwick who performed on the mansion’s 1880 Steinway grand piano.
