The Animals and The Yardbirds closed out the summer season at the Warwick Musical Theatre.

The Annual Cajun and Bluegrass Festival was still at Stepping Stone Ranch in Escoheag, headlined once again by Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys.

Ocean State Light Opera Company presented “Ida,” under the musical direction of Cranstonian Ann Danis. Another Cranstonian, Joanne Mouradjian, starred as Princess Ida.

The Narragansett Bay Chorus presented the Show of Champions at PPAC.

Cranstonian Rachel Torregrossa starred in the Community Players production of “Sorry, Wrong Number.”

We reviewed East Side Pockets on Thayer St. in Providence, where the Veggie Falafel Pocket was $3.75. It is still one of our favorite spots, and our review of 20 years ago is still on their wall.

“Fiddler on the Roof” closed the summer season at Theatre-by-the-Sea.

The National Tour of “Dreamgirls” opened at PPAC.

Ricardo Pitts-Wiley starred in a one-man show, “35 Miles From Detroit,” at Perishable Theatre in Providence.

Smooth jazz artist Slim Man played the Odeum in East Greenwich

Russell Crowe and Kevin Spacey starred in a stylish police movie, “L.A. Confidential.”
