Larry Rachleff was bringing international soloists to the Vets to play with the R.I. Philharmonic.
Bill Paxton and Bridget Fonda starred in “A Simple Plan,” a clever, plot-twisting drama.
Terrance Malick’s The Thin Red Line starred Nick Nolte and Sean Penn.
Robert Altman’s comedy/drama, Playing By Heart starred Sean Connery, Gena Rowlands and Gillian Anderson.

Forty Years Ago

Ed Hall and Barbara Meek starred in “The Shadow Box,” directed by Peter Gerety at Trinity
The National Tour of “Chicago” was at the Ocean State Theatre (PPAC). Tickets were $6.75-$8.75.
The Grateful Dead were at the Providence Civic Center (now The Dunk).
Artists International brought Verdi’s “Aida” to Vets.
