The Cranston/ East Greenwich girls co-op hockey team fell in the quarterfinals against Burrillville/ Ponaganset/ Bay View last week, putting an end to the Thunderbirds’ 2018-19 season.
Burrillville/ Ponaganset/ Bay View dominated in game one, controlling the pace throughout and claiming a convincing 8-0 shutout win at the Levy Arena. Its run of dominance would carry on over to game two, where it would cruise to another lopsided shutout, this time with a 5-0 score.
The Thunderbirds finished the season with a 5-9 regular season record, much improving on last season in which they finished with a record of 0-14-2. For more photos of the two-game series, check out page 28.
