(Psychological thriller)

Katherine Heigl plays a jealous, disturbed former wife who insidiously plots to bring down her former husband's new fiancée (Rosario Dawson).

Joyce liked the psychological undercurrents in this slow moving love/hate triangle that delves deeply into the troubled woman's past. To further complicate the relationships, there's a young daughter involved who is used as a pawn in the former wife's game of getting rid of the fiancée and winning her husband back. She is relentless and ruthless in the games she plays, to the point of violence.

Julia, who left her big city life to follow David to California, feels threatened and challenged at every turn. She has a history of violence in her life, which comes to play in a big way at the end.

Is it paranoia, or are the weird things happening to her that are apparently caused by the disturbed and disturbing ex-wife?

Is David (Geoff Stults) a bit too naive as to what is going on around him? Hasn't he realized that is ex-wife is nuts?

That was the big problem I had with the story, but Joyce saw it in a different perspective, focusing more on the psychological problems.

The situation turns ugly and violent at the end, but there are survivors who appear to live happily ever after.

Rated R, with bloody violence, profanity and sex.
