With downed tree limbs across the city, utility crews were busy Tuesday rewiring Cranston. But while the loss of electricity, cable television and telephone service was cause for annoyance, Cox universal home technician Ryan Moreau said, “It was nothing compared to Irene.” Following last year’s tropical storm, Moreau was assigned to working with crews in Connecticut. Moreau was called into service at 2:30 p.m. Monday during the height of Hurricane Sandy’s fury. After restoring services in Cranston – this shot was taken on Shaw Avenue in Edgewood – he was headed for Newport, where he expected conditions were worse. (Cranston Herald photo)
