What was your favorite gift for the holidays?

MUSIC TO HER EARS: Marketing Director for Garden City Center Janice Pascone smiled when she recalled her favorite gift, which was a record player at the age of 9.

SOCCER SCORE: Monroe Young, originally from Liberia, answered rather quickly when asked what his favorite gift was: a soccer ball.

DOLL DREAMS: Ashlee Tennett, age 8, recalls her favorite gift that she received last year, an American Girl Doll. This year she would like accessories for her doll.

SCHWINN WIN: Joe Koechel was only 6 years old when he got his first bicycle, a blue Schwinn, but it’s still his favorite gift.

HELLO DOLLY: For Erin DiIorio, her favorite gift was a Cabbage Patch Doll when she was 5 years old.

GLOWING FOR THE SEASON: Allison Murphy loved the Glow Worm she was given when she was 8 years old.

NEW WHEELS: Paula Levigne’s favorite gift was her first bicycle, which was the color green, that she received at age 9.

ALL IN A GAME: Dina Horn recalls her favorite gift was the game “Operation” that she received when she was 9 years old.

As soon as the Thanksgiving turkey became leftovers, Cranston residents and visitors flocked to Garden City to meet Santa Claus and start shopping for the holiday season. We asked people to reflect on a favorite gift they ever received during the holidays. A pattern soon appeared. Many people, of all ages, answered remarkably that their favorite gifts were from childhood.
