The WSO will open the Holiday Series at the Greenwich Odeum on December 14. Music will include the Frescobaldi Toccata, selections from Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3, a medley of tunes from Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, and holiday favorites composed and/or arranged by Leroy Anderson, Ted Ricketts, Michael Story, and Ralph Ford.

The 2017 Holiday Series continues with a presentation of seasonal favorites as the WSO partners again with the combined Royal School of Church Music choirs from St. Peter’s by the Sea- Narragansett & St. Mark’s- Warwick, under the direction of Cheryl Casola & Linda Wiles. Combined choral-orchestral works will include Vaughn-Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols featuring Andrew Gribbin- baritone, as well as a new setting of Sing We Now of Christmas by John Leavitt, and the gospel-styled Noel, Noel by Michael McElroy & Joseph Joubert. The choirs and orchestra will present several other selections independently as well.
