To the Editor,
With 7+ million dollars on the line Cranston should go with the sure thing. Our city has the opportunity of a lifetime to use Federal dollars for building a community center and some members of our city council want to put those dollars at risk by entertaining the purchase of a site that may not qualify! The Arlington school proposal is a much safer and optimal option as that neighborhood has the poorest residents in our city - and are most likely to benefit from services offered from a community center. Additionally, not having to use the funds to purchase from a private entity will also put more dollars into THE BUILDING - where it belongs - not in the hands of private opportunists.
Joe Agresti, Cranston
