To the Editor;Mayor Hopkins demonstrates his obtuseness in his editorial of Nov. 2 by employing the bowling term “turkey,” (three strikes in a row,) in an attempt to denigrate councilman Ferri’s “idea” regarding the spending of tax dollars.  The mayor fails to realize that in the game of bowling a strike is the best possible roll you can have, and has therefore congratulated the councilman on having three superlative ideas.  Mayor Hopkins cluelessly swapped the meaning for the term “strike” in bowling for “strike” in baseball. Wasn’t this mayor a former sports administrator?  It should also be pointed out that since a “turkey” is a series of three, one cannot have a turkey of an idea, as the Mayor put it, but rather a turkey of ideas.  In my opinion this gaff is symbolic of the mayor’s overall conduct during the entire Budlong pool saga. Pinheads ought not to be kingpins.
