The students at Woodridge Elementary School had a treat recently, as Stacey Kaplan visited from Barrington Books, bringing with her several literary treats for her students. She read aloud from several of her favorite children's books, including a Pete the Cat book and she taught the students a fun dance to go along with it, which they all did together. She also handed out special cat ears to go with the Pete the Cat read-aloud, which the students immediately put on, adding to their spirit week "future occupation" outfits that day. As Kaplan wrapped up, she gave each student a bookmark and answered the students' questions about her job at Barrington Books, reading, and what her favorite books are. She told the students that she chose to work in a bookstore because of her love of books and reading. She welcomed all of the students to come and visit Barrington Books in Garden City over the summer, to take a look at the car that is housed inside of the store, and she encouraged them to keep up the good work with their reading.
