AAA reopens most branch offices

Posted

AAA Northeast reopened the majority of its eight Rhode Island branch offices Monday, May 11, following strict social distancing procedures and CDC guidelines for the protection and benefit of employees and AAA members.  Members should visit aaa.com/branches and enter their zip code to find an open office closest to their residence.

Rhode Island Registry of Motor Vehicles services will be available, by appointment only, to members, who can reserve a time online. AAA membership, insurance, travel and financial services will be available, either in person or through a virtual meeting. In some cases, curbside services will be available, and there will be a strict limit on how many members can be in the offices at a given time.

“In strict adherence to the Governor’s guidance, we are pleased to be reopening Rhode Island offices with the goal of helping and serving during this challenging time,” said John Galvin, AAA Northeast President and CEO.  “We’re also eager to resume DMV registry services, though they will be by appointment only for the foreseeable future,” he added. AAA’s 24-hour Emergency Roadside Assistance has been and continues to be available throughout the entirety of the COVID-19 shutdown.

AAA branches are in Providence, Cranston, Warwick, East Providence, Middletown, Narragansett, Cumberland and Greenville.  Members should visit aaa.com/branches to ensure their preferred branch is open.  Office hours are Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Currently, AAA Northeast offices in Massachusetts remain closed.
